"On the Shores of Lake Adley" Parkers Prairie is located in the SE corner of Ottertail County where State Highway 235 and 29 and County 42 and 46 intersect along the shores of Lake Adley. In fact the city of Parkers Prairie and Lake Adley are named for the two men Parker and Adley who allegedly climbed a tree and discovered a lake on the edge of the prairie in 1867. They decided to name them after themselves, Parkers Prairie and Lake Adley. Still considered a farming community, Parkers Prairie's industry is growing as well. Parkers Prairie has two city parks that offer a wide variety of recreation. Picnic areas, shelters, softball fields, sand volleyball, horse show pits and a community swimming pool. |
