"Minnesota Lakes Country" Perham is located in the NE corner of Ottertail County at the intersection of Highway 10 and County 78. Like so many towns, Perham started to grow with the arrival of the railroad. Perham is named for Josiah Perham, president of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Today Perham is an industrialized community whose economy is based on manufacturing, agriculture and tourism. Some of Perham's larger employers are Barrel O' Fun, Bongaards Creameries, Perham Memorial Hospital, Tuffy's, Kenny's Candy, Primera Foods and Nelson Convection. |

Perham also offers Parks Museums Golf Points of Interest: The Perham International Turtle Race has drawn racers from the US, Canada, Africa, Europe, Japan, Korea, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and Italy. The Perham Turtle Races are help every Wednesday morning at Turtle Park in Perham during the summer. Perham holds their annual Turtle Fest each June. Events include a parade, fireworks, street dance, 10K road race and Demo Derby. Perham is a part of Minnesota Lakes Country. Within just a few miles of Perham you will find Mud Lake, Little Pine Lake and Pig Pine Lake. Perham is home to the East Ottertail County Fair each summer. Perham residents celebrate the Holiday season with their Parade of Lights the day after Thanksgiving. There is an annual Perham Area Trade and Home Show at the Perham Area Community Center in February.
